AGE DIVISIONS

2008 AAU HANDBOOK

The Athletics Program is comprised of eight divisions.

(The athlete's year of birth shall determine the age division in which he or she will compete.)

1.  Athletes born in 2000 and after are eligible to run in the Primary Age Division.  There is no age minimum; however, all athletes born in 2000 and after will compete together in track meets if they decide to travel.

2. Athletes who are eighteen (18) year of age through the final day of the National Track & Field Championships shall be eligible to compete in the Young Menís and Young Womenís division through that Track & Field meet.

 

RELAYS

Relays are conducted in the Bantam3, Midget4, Youth5, Intermediate, and Young Men/Women divisions only.

 

3.  Athletes in the Primary Divisions and the Sub-Bantam Divisions may run in the Bantam Division for relays only.

4.  Athletes in the Sub-Midget Divisions may run in the Midget Divisions for relays only.

5.  Athletes in the Sub-Youth Divisions may run in the Youth Divisions for relays only.
