Precision Running Retreat

 

We need to know how many athletes will be attending the retreat so that we can  make plans for activities and food.  Athletes will need to be dropped off at the farm by 10:00 on Saturday morning, June 11, and will need to be picked up by 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 12.  Please see the attached list of supplies each athlete will to bring.  Below, you will find directions to the farm and a waiver.  If your child will be attending the retreat, please sign the waiver and send the lower portion of this form back to practice, accompanied by $30 to cover food and materials for the weekend.

Directions to Storybook Farm

 

Take I-24E to Chattanooga

 

Exit – Highway 231 to Shelbyville (go approx. 30 miles)

 

At the intersection of 231 and 41A in Shelbyville (KFC on the corner), take 41A southeast to Tullahoma (go approx. 7.5  miles)  You should see the small wooden Shofner Lutheran Church on the right before your next turn.

 

At 276, turn right (travel approx. 1.3 miles)

 

Take 1st right at Cathey Road (travel 0.8 miles)  If there is no street sign, Cathey Road is a smaller, rougher road that crosses over Thompson Creek just after you make the turn.

 

At the dog leg in the road, turn right through the gate into the farm.

Here is the list of supplies your athlete should bring to the retreat:

 

Sleeping Bag

Pillow

Towels

Shower supplies, toiletries

Bathing Suit

Extra clothes (they WILL get wet!)

Night clothes

2 gallons of water

Sunscreen

Old shoes and running shoes (again, they WILL get wet!!!!)

Flashlight

 

Optional – Bug spray

 

 

 

 

 

 

RELEASE OF LIABILITY FOR RETREAT AT THE SHOFNER FARM

 

I give permission for my child, ___________________________________, to attend the gathering and to participate in all activities at the Shofner Farm on June 11 - 12, 2011.  I understand that the Shofner Family will not be supervising this trip.  I understand that the Shofner family has not made this farm safe for visitors and guests.  I understand that my child may participate in sports and other activities that could result in injury and worse.  I hereby release the Shofner family and Precision staff from any liability and agree not to include them in any lawsuit that may result from my child’s trip to the Shofner’s farm.
